In Sassofortino, the macaroni festival and chestnut festival, in Roccatederighi, the Palio dei ciuchi and Medio Evo nel Borgo, and in Roccastrada, Settembre Roccastradino.

Nature lovers can visit the Uccellina National Park, the oasis of Burano and the forests of Monte Amiata. In the Maremma National Park, there are horses, wild livestock (Maremman cattle), wild boar, roe deer and other animals. The park offers eight different walking trails. Guided tours can be made on foot or by canoe along the Ombrone delta.

The Orbetello Lagoon, which is under the protection of the WWF, is an oasis that contains small islands covered with aquatic plants and is home to unique and endangered bird species. Among them, the black-winged stilt and heron.

Mount Amiata, the highest mountain in this province (1738 m.) has a total of 70 km of walking trails, divided into four routes, which can be explored throughout the year (in winter with cross-country skiing).

At about an hour’s drive, you can visit towns rich in history and culinary heritage including Montepulciano (Nobile wine), Pienza (pecorino cheese, honey), Montalcino (Brunello wine).
